"Pemblokiran sekarang sudah lebih mudah dengan adanya revisi undang-undang ITE. Kominfo punya kewenangan dalam memblokir akun atau web yang diindikasikan SARA, ujaran kebencian dan radikalisme," ujar Martinus di Mabes Polri, Jakarta Selatan, Kamis (29/12).
Praktiknya, bila ditemukan informasi-informasi palsu pada sebuah akun media sosial (medsos) maka akan dipantau terus. Kemudian akan dilakukan pengkajian apabila akun tersebut perlu diblokir maka akan diserahkan pada Kominfo untuk dilakukan pemblokiran.
"Ada usulan dari kita untuk blokir suatu akun, lalu dipanel apakah urgent diblokir, atau perlu dipantau saja. Jadi tidak ujug-ujug diblokir, kalau perlu maka bisa diajukan ke Kominfo," jelasnya.
Oleh karena itu lanjut dia, apabila memang ada instansi, lembaga atau masyarakat yang dirugikan akibat berita hoax tersebut bisa melaporkannya kepada polisi, bukan justru menyebarkannya kembali. "Jangan sampai informasi yang belum dicek kebenarannya dilakukan penyebaran," ujar dia.

Therefore, he continued, if indeed there are agencies, institutions or communities harmed by the hoax news could report it to the police and not just pass it on. "Do not let the information has not been verified do the deployment," he said.
