Ketua Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Setya Novanto mengapresiasi langkah Presiden Joko Widodo yang memilih menunaikan salat Jumat di Monas bersama peserta aksi bela Islam III.
Menurut Setnov—panggilan Ketua DPR itu—langkah tersebut merupakan pertimbangan yang sangat tepat. “Ini ditunjukkan (Presiden) kepada masyarakat Indonesia,” ujar dia di kantornya, Jumat, 2 Desember 2016.Menurut Setya, langkah Jokowi mampu menciptakan perdamaian di masyarakat. Ia menilai ketputusan Presiden tersebut bisa ditiru oleh para pemimpin di negara lainnya.
Setya menganggap aksi damai hari ini berlangsung aman dan tertib. Keputusan Presiden untuk salat Jumat bersama massa aksi, menurut dia, memberikan rasa aman terhadap pihak asing yang berada di Indonesia.
“Para investor negara asing dan pengusaha yang tadinya takut dengan aksi damai ini ternyata tidak,” kata dia.
Para peserta aksi tidak bergerak ke DPR. Menurut Setya, hal itu terjadi karena telah ada kesepakatan. Para peserta aksi telah bersepakat menggelar kegiatan berpusat di Monas.
Senada dengan Setya, Ketua Majelis Permusyawaratan Rakyat Zulkifli Hasan menilai peserta aksi damai tidak akan menuju DPR. Ia mengatakan, apabila ada sekelompok orang yang mendatangi DPR-MPR, berarti mereka bukan bagian dari peserta aksi damai.
Zulkifli mengatakan pihaknya menolak apabila peserta demo bergerak ke DPR. Apabila ada yang bergerak ke DPR, kata dia, berarti mereka adalah pihak-pihak yang menunggangi aksi damai 2 Desember. Ia menyarankan, apabila ingin berunjuk rasa ke DPR-MPR, sebaiknya dilakukan pekan depan.
