Tim Kuasa Hukum Humphrey Djemat sebut, warga tetap bisa memilih Ahok pada Pemilihan Kepala Daerah Jakarta 15 Februari 2017.
“Saya sebagai penasehat hukum berani menyatakan dan menjamin bahwa pada 15 Februari nanti, Ahok tidak akan diputuskan bersalah dan masuk penjara. Ini butuh waktu 3 atau 4 bulan lagi dari sekarang,” ujar Humphrey melalui keterangan tertulis yang diterima Rabu (28/12/2016).
Humphrey menepis isu yang berkembang, bahwa Ahok akan langsung digantikan Djarot Saiful Hidayat di Pilkada.

Humphrey memastikan proses hukum kasus Ahok ini membutuhkan waktu dan masih berjalan terus.

“Jadi, bagaimana mungkin pada 15 Februari waktu pilkada pak Ahok lagi di dalam penjara sehingga orang berpikir tidak usah pilih Pak Ahok. Sekali lagi, tidak mungkin,” ujar Humphrey.
Justru pada 15 Februari itu, ujar Humphrey, Ahok masih di luar dan masih menjadi warga negara biasa yang bebas menggunakan hak pilihnya.
Dia berharap, majelis hakim membebaskan Ahok dari semua dakwaan Jaksa Penuntut Umum (JPU).
“Pak Ahok masih menjalani proses persidangan yang seminggu sekali digelar. Kalau pak Ahok menang pilkada dan pada saat bersamaan bebas dari jerat hukum maka dia akan memimpin kota Jakarta kembali,” kata Humphrey.
Dalam keterangannya dia menyebut kasus hukum Ahok masih lama. Bahkan pertarungan sesungguhnya terjadi pada saat pemeriksaan saksi-saksi.
