The government will issue National Identity Card (KTP) for children. KTP named Identity Card Centre (MCH) was published to encourage increased data collection, protection and fulfillment of the constitutional rights of children.
Based on the Regulation No. 2 Year 2016 About the Identity Card of the Child, a child ID card consists of two types. That is for children aged 0-5 years and for children 5 to 17 years.
For children of Indonesian citizens (citizen) newborn, Kids ID card will be issued simultaneously with the issuance of birth certificates. For children citizen who was 5 years old but has not yet had KIA, must meet the following requirements:
a. Copy of birth certificate quotation and citation show original birth certificates
b. KK original parent / guardian; and
c. The original KTP parents / guardians.
Meanwhile, for citizen children who have aged five years but has not had the KIA must meet the following requirements:
a. Copy of birth certificate quotation and citation show original birth certificates
b. KK original parent / guardian
c. The original KTP parents / guardians
d. Children photographs color 2 x 3 2 (two) copies.
For children of foreign citizens living in Indonesia, to get the KIA must meet the following requirements:
a. Copy of passport and residence permit but
b. First KK parent / guardian
c. The original electronic ID card both parents.
Procedures
In Article 13 of Regulation No. 2 Year 2016 About the Identity Card of the Child, written procedures for making ID cards of this child. Here are the steps:
1. The applicant or parents of children handed KIA publishing requirements by submitting the requirements to the Department of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil).
2. Head of signing and issuing KIA.
3. KIA may be issued to an applicant or parents in the office of the Department or districts or villages / wards.
