Manager PLN Rayon Karawang Endang Sutisna said the revocation of the electricity subsidy for customers who are able to be done gradually. Removal of subsidies performed three stages over two months (January, March, and May).
"Subsidies are revoked for people able and adapted for electric base rates. However, for the people (customers) who can not afford no electric power changes or tariffs," he said in Kawarang, Tuesday (01/10/2017).
According to him, customers who own electric PLN 900 of the VA, divided into two groups, namely normal household groups or incapacitated and class affluent households. The government only subsidizes households can not afford, while households are able to be revoked. "We still have to collect data on how many households were able to remove the subsidies that we will," he said.
It as implementing the policy of the central government, will carry out those instructions. This is done according to the instructions and Energy Minister. "We of PLN Rayon Karawang only as implementers and we carry out this policy," he said.
Meanwhile, about the time of removal of subsidies on electricity in total, it will be made no sooner than May 2017. Hence, his company is currently collecting data from every region in Karawang.
"Overall the subsidy will be made until May of this year. All the customers of golongsn affluent households will we wear regular electricity rates. As we are still socialized so that people know it," he said.
